Man I watched the Jay-z conert at Glastonbury on youtube today and he completely killed that shit. It was 9 long parts, but it didn't even feel like it because I was so intoxicated by the performances. If you know me well enough you know that Jay-Z is by far my favorite rapper and I will argue against anyone that he is the best rapper EVER. Yeah yeah I know Bigge and Pac were good, but I think people exaggerate on their greatness as a result of how they were taken out the game so unexpectedly. Nas may be a better lyricist, but Jay's lyrics, metaphors, and storytelling along with his swagger and ability to change his swagger (rap fast or slowly) makes him better than anyone else. Sure, Lil wayne may be the best now, but he will never reach Jay status.
Anyways, this Glastonbury shit as I said was unbelievable, but as a fan I might be a bit bias lol. It was cool to see this as an example of how our culture as black people and the Hip-Hop culture in general is embraced all around the world. Fashion and music make us one.
