Dennis "leatherface" Rodman

Being the biggest 90s Bulls fan that there is, it hurts me to see Dennis Rodman in his current state. The dude looks like he's hit rock bottom. I thought I had seen it all: him dressing up in wedding dresses, and painting his hair neon orange and shit, but this is more of a shaking my head moment than all of them.

Look at that face...burnt and leathery. Someone make me a belt or something.

Get well Dennis.

moment of reflection.

After facebook got a little dry, i decided to head over to my Myspace and see what was up. Of course, nothing lol. So I decided to view my comments and click the very last page, which in essence, is the first page of comments I've ever received on myspace seeing as though I've had the same myspace profile for my entire myspace career lol.

Going through the pages in my myspace history was pretty damn funny. I laughed and shook my head at some of the conversations I was having. The funniest thing was how some of my friends used to write. The z's instead of s's; the aLterNatiiNg cAPzZ liiKE tHiis lol. It was funny and gross at the same time. I then began to think back at the different stuff I used to do on myspace and in my actual life that I would never do and be embarrased of now. I remember I used to post bulletins in huge colorful fonts and address them to one person, but hope that everyone else would read it. This is why people have conversations over bulletins smh, can't believe I used to think that was cool lol.

I can't figure out the moment where things changed; where i began feeling comfortable in my own skin and no longer appealing to popular authority. It really just seems like you grow up and change without even noticing it, and things you used to do just seem automatically stupid after a while. For instance, I would never join a "click" now, it just seems like a waste. But back then, in the glory days of Hollywood GMC, TNB (the one i was a part of lol), FLIRTS, etc. it seemed like being in a click was the only way you could be cool...by conforming to other people. I know it wasn't just me, this is a stage almost everyone faces as a process of finding who they truly are, but for me it just seems exceptionally weird because I don't see myself as being anything like that anymore. It's sad to see how people I grew up with, who are now 18 like me and done with high school, are still stuck in that 15 year old mindset lol. They still lack their own perception; I thought we would all have this thing figured out by now...guess not.

It was fun to spend a little time reflecting on the time when I didn't have my own perception though. I will admit, life seemed alot easier in many aspects under this mindset. "Just follow what others are doing and you'll be alright, you'll be cool," that seems to be what we tell ourselves in those years lol. I mean honesly, I'm only 18 now and still make retarded "that's what she said jokes" and all that shit, so I don't mean to sound like a old bitter man lmao, nothing wrong with frequent immaturity and childishness, but I do have my own blueprint that I live by now however, and this is the key to going on into adulthood.

I'm sure years from now I'll look back at some of the things I'm doing now and have yet another moment of reflection lol, because like I said, life is just a process. But whether or not you take advantage of all it's opportunites is what you should be concentrating on most. Go get it, whatver it is!

The Squared Circle wishes you the best on your quest.

Spring Break in L.A

I cannot tell you guys how good it feels to be back at home. It feels good to get away from the books and the crazy, although fun, college life. I got goosebumps as soon as I could see downtown from the plane when I was arriving at LAX lol.

So yeah, it's poop how I'm only here for a week, but anything will do. I just hope that I get to see all the people I want to see. I brought in Spring Break in good fashion, and i'm using that phrase in dual terms lol... both clothes wise and event wise. I looked rather dapper last night when me and my bro Sterling hit up Greek Mania, the step show after-party that was held in LA. It was poppin, despite the over-abundance of plaid, piercings, and skinny jeans lol. This seems to be the prominent trio among "us" LA youths now, but the problem is that some people don't know how to put together alternate outfits. Smh, shameee!

Anyways, like I said the party was fun. I also met some new cool people like Johanathan and David, two hilarious human beings lol. And by the way, Jerkin' is addicting! I just thought I should mention that for those of you who think i make it my job to hate everything that other people like. Wrong! Just when you thought you had it all figured out lol...

I truly love this city...well county lol...since I no longer officially live in the city. I've learned to respect it more now that I'm not here all the time. I know it's barely Spring Break right now, but I can't help but think about how fun the summer months will be. I simply can't wait. Well, I gotta go now; I have shit to do.

Chow!

Floss Daily.

Check out "boos" Reggie Bush and Kim Kardashian as they show off their umm...talents... in GQ Magazine. It's okay if you're getting a bit angry when looking at this; it's perfectly normal given what appears to be perfection illustrated in mere mortals lol.

Nice spread I must say.

They make for a good synthesis of fresh.

Kappa probate.

Probate -
The "coming out" ceremony for pledges of a fraternity (or sorority?), usually associated with the "Divine 9" (Black frats/sororities). This normally includes masks covering the faces of those who were pledging until they are revealed as the newest member of their frat. Also, other Greeks will show up, especially those of that sorority or fraternity that the probate is of and their sorors and brothers from other schools as well as their own. Other occurances at a probate are: reciting the Greek alphabet, acknowledging your big sisters or big brothers, the announcement of the line name and ones individual line name. However, the highlight of the Probate seems to be when the pledges have to diss the other frats and sororities of the Divine 9 lol. This comes in the form of a rap that the pledges have to create and perform as a part of their initiation.
This was definately the tightest part of the Kappa Probate i went to tonight. The Kappas and the Sigmas almost got into a fight because "some people" couldn't handle the jokes that were being dished out smh. Dudes were drunk, so they probably weren't concious of how bitchy they were being lol, but still. I mean, everybody knows that this is a part of the initiation, so I don't see the reason to get overly ass-hurt about the whole thing. You already earned your letters, just chill. Ruining someone's initiation? The Squard Circle finds that quite saucey.

But yeah, overall the Probate was a success. Congrats to my bro Osahan as well as Ryan and Joe. I haven't seen none of these foos in about a month lol. Obviously you're not supposed to tell anyone you're pledging...but like everything else in the black community, nothing is a secret lol. So yeah, their disappearance wasn't something that had people worried too much.

The whole thing did have me thinking though. As I was standing there watching the pledges do all these chants, dances, and bark like dogs (lmao) I just imagined myself in their position. I would love the after effects of pleding a fraternity (the brotherhood, the parties, the girls), but man I don't know about getting spanked with big ass two-by-fours and getting fucked up by my "big brother" members. Knowing the person I am, I don't think I would ever take the process serious enough to get through it. However, if I were to pledge, I know it would either be with Kappas or Alphas. Most of my friends tell me they can see me as one of these. Kappa, because of how fly and smooth they usually are. Alpha, because of the intellectual as well as suave attributes they have. Why not be an Alpha and get the best of both worlds right? Too bad they don't have Alphas at UC Davis lol. Womp!

We'll see what the upcoming years hold though. Right now I'm just focusing on finals, getting my ass back to the sexy streets of Los Angeles for Spring Break, and all the fun shit that Spring Quarter will bring. Which reminds me, you know those little crushes you used to get like back in middle school? Well yeah, I think I got one for this older chick who's name I'll leave out of the media lol. Smh, believe me, I feel as ridculous typing this as you do reading this lol. But shit, blogs originated as internet diaries right? Lol, anyways we'll leave this discussion in the oven a little bit longer...it's not quite done yet :).

Boogie Nights.

With the prominence of vintage items in contemporary fashion, involving everything from super skinny jeans to Kanye's jean jackets lol, it is no surpirse that trendy young ladies are dipping into the 70s and brining back what I like to call the "Hippie Headbands." Working best with long straight hair, the hippie headband gives edge to what would normally be a boring and cliche hairstyle.

I for one like it, but of course only on certain people. Please if you have a really bad weave, wear your hair in a ponytail, or have braids (God no!) please don't try this in your leisure. Leave it to those with the long straight hair. Nothing against different hairstyles, but certain shit just only looks right when placed in the proper setting you know? Picture a Bentley sitting outside a liquor store. Just seems out of place right? lol

The Squared Circle gives this fashion trend a thumbs up. I find it really sexy:)
