W/ honors!

Due to my grades for fall quarter, I just found out that I made the Dean's undergraduate Honor List for my school! Omg, this is such a big moment for me!

I'm soooo happy, and I won't be overly modest and deny that I have done well thus far. I just hope that I can keep it up. Campus life is crazy, but in acheiving success just remember that moderation is imperative.

Thank you to all those that have helped me to this point. I love you!

and above all...Thank you Lord!

"Redvines"

Louis Vuitton has recently collaborated with Kanye West for a new sneaker line this season. The line is said to be releasing 5 colorways, but the ones that I think will circulate the most buzz are these all red joints.

Kanye is seen wearing them at a Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris in which the sneakers were also displayed on the runway featuring this season's new luxuries.
I must admit, these sneakers are pretty sick! I really really want these red ones badly (my favorite color). They are simple, but able to capture so much through the simplicity. Just a clean shoe all the way around. Elegant, not flashy.

I know these are gonna run for about a cool $500 or so, but damn...hopefully someway, somehow i can get my hands (feet) on (in) these babies :). Either way, this is a good look for Kanye & "Louie" nonetheless.

Releasing: some time in June (my birthday? June 3rd?)

Del Amo Brawl.

So today I was talking to a friend and upon asking her how her weekend was, she then told me about a certain happening at the Del Amo Fashion Center, located in Los Angeles County in the city of "South Bay". Apparently Pu$haz, a LA based music/party group were hosting a function at Del Amo and a fight broke out between two girls, two fat girls as I was told lol (side note).

So apparently police arrived to break up this quarrel, but things actually escalated upon the polices' involvement. It is said that a huge fight broke out where people (including some Pu$ha members) began fighting with the police. The Daily Breeze, a LA newspaper covering the story, reported that someone even hit a police officer in the nose hard enough to the point where he began bleeding. No major injuries were rendered for either side, but the newspaper as well as the mouth from which I was originally told this story provided that it was truly a sight to see. Some 50 kids fighting a bunch of police officers. I can only imagine!

Now what could be the reason for this giant fiasco? Granted that two girls were originally fighting, and anyone who has witnessed a fight between us teenagers knows that there is always a huge crowd standing around them, saying a bunch of instigating stuff to make the shit as "tight as fuck" as they possibly can. So I'm guessing that when the police showed up, the cops were probably stern and not seeking for any bullshit. Of course the people probably perceived them as being "stupid racist cops" and felt justified in trying to fuck up the police, doing shit such as hitting them in the nose. This is how I see it all going down...not saying it's actual fact.

However, this whole event does raise a couple questions in my mind. For one, a group of black kids already know that if some shit jumps off, they are gonna be looked at a certain way and perhaps will recieve over-aggressive treatment by the cops, so why do we even put ourselves in situations to allow shit like this to happen? I dont understand why we can't just function and have a good time without somebody fighting or starting some bullshit, which probably originated over some small, inisignificant thing. But let's be honest with ourselves, some of us just LIKE for shit to jumpoff. As my friend was describing the story to me, she was also telling me how fun it was to see all the pandemonium and people running around.

WHY THE FUCK IS THIS FUN TO US???!!!

I mean, it's like some people go to a function (party, kickback, etc.) and anticipate a fight to happen or some conflict to arise. Niggas...yes I said niggas...pick a fight over the smallest things. There is often no principle for which a fight happens, the sole reason often stems from an internal likeness to fight. The reason for the fight, then, becomes irrelevant. So here we have it, people fighting for essentially nothing. But of course they invent these bullshit reasons to justify themselves.

What was the aftermath of all this you may ask? 8 people in jail. Some of which I believe to be Pu$ha members. Prepare yourselves for all the ignorant "Free my nigga" myspace bulletins and away messages. Ugh! Then people will say "Fuck the police" when all the police were trying to do was break -up a fight, a fight which aids in forming a sterotypical perception of all "urban" people. Sterotypes that we are ignorant and ruthless. Now maybe I am missing something, perhaps the cops sort of ignited the entire thing through drastic actions, provoking people into fighting them. I am entirely open to this possibility, but my overall viewpoint still wouldn't change. Even if this happened, even if the police were giving "racist gestures," the actions people took still don't equal the cause in magnitude. It also doesn't help that people went home bragging about how much they "fucked up the police". This just proves to me that they weren't out to prove a point; they weren't trying to be political; they didnt have any notion of justice in their mind when acting; they just did it for bragging rights and to feel cool about themselves. This shit absolutely disgusts me! It's time to grow up people. Let's all function, smoke, drink, and do whatever you like, but let's do it all in fun. Let's have other talents besides just fucking up other people and cops. Because after all, our actions affect more than just ourselves. You never know how what you do will effect how people view all people that look like you.

Remember that! And this is not directed towards any specific person or group. Although I mentioned Pu$haz as being involved, this is not a specific expression towards it's members at all. Good luck to all of yall. However, if your mindset falls into the category that I described, then this is for you! If you have a problem with it, I truly dont give a fuck....express your resentment towards me in proving me wrong...

Good day All!

my return to "the D"

Winter break has ended, and I am reporting live from my dorm-room back at UC Davis, which we cool kids have recently nicknamed "The D" lmao. Yeah, the name is kinda lame I know.

I have to say, I'm feeling a bit home sick already =/. I really enjoyed my time in LA; shit just being able to have my own room, own space, and taking a break from the college life was terrific. I got alot of productive stuff done while I was at home. I did some successful shopping, and I got to be with my family and most of the friends that I was missing during my first quarter here at college. Yes, I know, there are still alot of you people I didn't get to see...but dont fault me, I only had 3 weeks lol.

I don't have any regrets =x. I hate to be cliche, but what happens in LA, stays in LA. However, the only thing I really regret, if anything, was the fact that I didn't get to chill with my good friend Nicole. I ran into her at a party in Baldwin Hills on my first weekend back, which was crazy weird, but crazy amazing at the same time. Unfortunately, we only got to talk for about 10 minutes though. I had made it a priority on my agenda to get like a whole day with her while I was on break, but it didn't happen. I wont lie and say it was because of time restraints, because I had time. I didn't see her because I need to get some things straight lol. Sounds odd I know, but trust me, if she's reading this, she knows entirely what I'm talking about.

But yeah, I can't wait until Spring Break so that I can finish the unfinished business that I left back at home. It'll take a couple days for me to get situated back into the college lifestyle...but I love it, so if I can't be back in the comfort of my hometown...college and UCD is where I wanna be. Excuse the corny rhyme haha.

Winter Quarrrrtttterrrrr!
