Tattoos have been around since before most of us were born, but I think it is safe to say that over the past 2 years there has been a considerable increase in the tattoo hype. This has a strong correlation with the sudden reemergence of the V-neck shirt. In L.A especially, you see it all the time, as the self=proclaimed L.A fresh kid rocks his deep V-neck in an attempt to show off his cool neck and chest tats. But seriously, should tattoos just be a mere fashion statement? Again, they have been around since forever, but I think with generations passed, they symbolized more than what people are using them for now. Today, it seems like people are getting them without even putting any thought into it. That's what I have a problem with; the purpose, not the actual act of getting "inked." If you want to get tatted, fine, that's perfectly okay, I only warn you to put thought into it and don't just do it to be in style. Somethin perminent should mean more than that...to me atleast.
Anyways, yeah, the tats are getting crazy. Most of the ones I have seen have been of really really stupid shit lmao. Really huge, chunky, and just stupid looking! LOL, what the fuck were you dudes thinking?!
But there have been a few that I liked though. Tats are not for me, I mean who knows, I might eventually get a small one of something that reallly has a meaning to me, but I doubt it.
One of the coolest ones I've seen, ironically enough, comes from one of the members of "The Cool Kids," a two member Hip-Hop group that epitomizes the 1980s in every way from their fresh retro clothes, to their music.
Mikey Rocks, the member I am referring to, has a sick arm tattoo that I was able to get a glimpse of during one of the group's recent interviews. The tattoo is drawn to where it appears to be the inside of his arm, the muscles and the skeleton, and it goes around his entire arm to give it a very real and vivid effect. The shit is dope to me, and if I were the tattoo-getting type, I would definately get something creative like this. I managed to find a few pictures of it via Flickr.com, shown above, so check them out. Couldn't find a perfect close-up shot, but these should be good enough to give you an idea of what it looks like.
People keep asking me what I think on the revamped "ink" craze, so here yall go lol. I dedicated a post to it; discussing the negatives and the positives. So next time you go to the tattoo parlor, please put some intense thought into what you will get . They dont wash off!
Just some advice from the squared circle. Feast or dismiss!
